Daily Inspiration: Confessions of a closet Rock Star !

Secretly, deep down inside I've always wanted to be a muthafuckin ROCK STAR! I mean I am an emcee, and I love hip hop music. But what hip hop music has been lacking lately is energy and creativity. So when I get sick of hearing Kanye brag and boast or whine like a bitch, or when I sick of hearing the latest and greatest top 40 bullshit, or the next hyped up not so next big thing. I tune in to some alternative shit! last night after rehearsal I was up late having a conversation with the electric guitarist from my band (Paul Tirico who by the way will prolly be the world's next greatest electric guitarist) over a few hits of bubblegum kush about music. While we were chopping it up he hipped me to one of his favorite bands "The Mars Volta". We sat up and watched a few on their videos and from a rock and roll standpoint i was pretty impressed!. It brought me to a place in my mind where I secretly and not so secretly admire the hell out of what rock and roll music has done for music in a whole. The great live sets, the intensity, the drug induced fit's of artistic psychosis on stage, the energy! At times music can be no better. These things that are so loved in rock and roll music is what I am trying to bring to hip hip music ( al except the drug induced psychosis of course!). Anyhow I'm gonna leave ya'll wit a few imspirational rock n roll clips that I happen to dig. Bare with me, this is my life!
One

The Mars Volta (2003) ( These guys are crazy )

Coldplay "Fix You" ( This song is just great )

Jimi Hendrix "Purple Haze) RIP JIMI!

Sly and the Family Stone "Take you higher"

I had to throw some great black rock and roll acts in the mix! Open your mind folks.
