Everywhere I go around the US people are always asking me "what happened to Coo Coo Cal"? Coo Coo is around Milwaukee and probably made one of the most classic, yet slept on songs from Milwaukee ever. This song still goes hard. Sounds like the south and Jazze Pha jacked our Midwest slang a bit. This video is from 2000 or 2001. Much respect to the OG Coo Coo Cal. Previous to this song Coo Coo Cal scored a platinum single with his song "My Projects".

Waddup people! So as of late along with the other millions of things that I have been doing I recently started performing regularily at various shows with another Milwaukee emcee MC Mikal in a series of shows that they are calling DollarMonsterLand.
Thus far each show has been different in it's own way. I always keep a few things consistent in my set, but I never constantly do the same set. I know that branding is a major factor, but since we do these shows weekly i always like to keep things fresh for entertainment purposes.
The shows are usually intimate and taking place at smaller establishments. This is cool for me because performing with Fresh Cut Collective I have been doing alot of larger shows and you happen to get away from the closeness of the people at those shows because they are so big and there is so much going on.
I'm using these shows as a lane to push mixtapes and other projects. Also to re-educate fans that may have just caught on to what I am doing as far as bringing them up to speed with my old and new material. I have so many songs recorded from previous years that I can constantly use older material that is still fresh and bring it back with some newer material.

This Grind of Mines..I wouldn't trade it for the world

Waddup ya'll? In the midst of all that is going on I'm trying my best to get back on my blogging shit. So I at least am gonna update ya'll a few times weekly (I am not a blogger, but I have to keep ya'll updated somehow...that is if you care)!
Today has been cool for the most part. I just recently got off the phone w/ my homegirl Mz Stylez from Sirius XM radio and I am proud to announce that we will be collaborating on a mixtape in the next coming months (Sirius XM Radio...umm..this is MAAJOR). I won't even let ya'll know the theme of it all, because their just might be a biter out there, but trust me it'll be fire and it is a guaranteed look to provide ya boy with a ton of nationwide exposure. I'm just excited that she wants to work with me! If you go back a few months on this blog she ethered me on her web show Lip Service, but I was humble and apparaently she was diggin the current tape "Victory: The Hunger for War" so she called me to do more work. Plus she was just too cute for me to be mad at her!
I sold a few more cd's today, honestly I've just been catching up with some stuf online so I haven't really been out there, but I have a few shows this weekend where I'm sure I'll make a few bucks. Hell this phone bill has to get paid some how!
One thing that I am blessed with is good people to be around and offer me good sound advice. When ever I need a lift i can just call on my homegirl Rovella Williams of Almost Famous, Playboy Tre or my homie Babyboi from Nappy Boy Ent! They always have some positive words of encouragement. Oh and let me not leave out my homegirl Goldyn of Xposure magazine (who has a featured interview with me in her soon to be first issue). Thanks alot peeps. As well as all the other close family & friends who have helped me out along the way. Its amazing because I am touching the world from my little space on earth in Milwaukee! Who does that? Just last night I had an impromptu meeting with my guy Haze from NY (he was in town) who works as an A&R for Atlantic. We politicked for a minute, I gave him some cd's and an Fresh Cut Collective t shirt. I do what i can.
This Grind is so intense and I do what i can to stay afloat, man I'm broke as hell, but I just can't fathome ever going back to my office 9-5. The money was good, but in the end its not worth my soul. Till next time..pray for me.

And it don't stop! Weekend re-cap.

There comes a point in time when you have to start living your dream or you just spend the rest of your life dreaming about living.
In all possible aspects last weekend was pretty dope. On Friday I along with the rest of the FCC had the opportunity to rock alongside Dumate (a hip hop band from Madison) as well as Curumin (a funk trio from Brazil). This was a great experience getting to rock with two excellent bands and also a challenge. I have to give mad props to Dumate who opened up the set, because they were COLD AS HELL! This is the first time that we as a band have actually had to think "Damn! If we don't show our ass then this other band is definitely gonna steal the show"! Not to look at things from a competitive aspect, but Dumate really tore shit up and I bet ususally they are a very hard act to follow. On the other hand I wouldn't of had it any other way, then to have a band of their caliber open up a show for us.
Our set was really live to except the fact that Reuvin the guy who does sound completely skipped out on providing us with any quality sound. Besides that people said it looked like I was lip singing because the couldn't hear me the set was okay. At least it felt good.
Curumn also did their thing up until the weeee hours of the night. I don't beleive they finished their set until about 2:30 am! Insane right! Hey i guess you get ur monies worth when you travel all the way from Brazil.
My oldewr sister came out to the show and showed her little brother some love, which was cool. This was her first time seeing the band play together nad she enjoyed it. The funny thing is that most if my lyrics are kind of autobiographical and she picked some things up in the song "Back In The Day" that I said that she also remembered. Great!
Saturday I woke up bright and early because that day we were traveling to Green Bay to rock a show up north for all those Packer fans. I had to get up extra early because I had to make some dough hustling cd;s at Garfield Days (a local annual street festival). Needless to say I walked away 60 bucks richer in a matter of a few
hours and headed up to meet with the other members of the band. I must say that I get a ton of community support in this city...people love me, and it feels damn good to be loved!
We traveled and got to Green Bay in about 2.5 hours and we were excited to find out that the venue was well into their way of preparing us some barbeque! That shit was great too, I think I ate 4-6 burgers as well as everything else they had. I ate sooo much that I wanted to fall asleep instead of performing later on that night.
All is well that ends well though. We rocked an excellent show, played with two great bands (fable and the world flat & the championship), met some great folks, made some new fans, got into some mischeif and ate some goood breakfast the morning after the show (thanks to Paul Flemings parents, who i also have to thank for letting us crash all over her house)!

Thoughts and thank you's for coming out to the show last night.

Last night was dope! I appreciate everyone who came out to the show at Stonefly Brewery last night.
It was a pleasure to see a truly diversed crowd rocking to the sounds of the Fresh Cut Collective.
Last I night I had one of those moments of clarity. The stage was set perfect and the crowd was just right. Everything was like I had always envisioned it.
I was amazed to see people singing along to some of the songs because we don't have a cd out yet! We did give out some demos at the last show, get ur hands on a copy if you can. Hopefully one day it'll be a collectors item! Anyhow, ladies were dancing and singing and the fellas were enjoying the show as well!
My man Common told me one day it will all make sense. And now I see it does.
I sincerely hope that all of the people who were there keep checking on us and coming out to the shows. Thanks to the people at the Shepherd Express news paper who wrote the dope article in the events section. Shout out to Radio Milwaukee also. Much love and respect to everyone at Stonefly Brewery. Much love to Milwaukee for showing us so much love!

DigiBlax! My 100th post! Its a celebration bitches!

Progression is a mutha! And thats exactly what I've been on! I'm happy that you all are still hangin in their with me as I venture through these life and times of an emcee. I set out writing this blog to help to not only bring exposure to me an my music, but to also chronicle my journey along the way to the top. I haven't made it their yet, but it's coming. I can feel it in the air!
Today has been a good day again! Two of my songs (80's babies and Pray To The Sun) were debuted on a D.C based internet radio show called Fuseboxradio (Fuseboxradio.podomatic.com)this week. And Dj Fusion said that folks were really loving the songs! I mean i was only expecting them to debut 80's Babies, but when she told me that both of those songs were added to the rotation I was blown away! Also today I sent the track "Victory" over to the homie Bug Yu of Digiwaxx Media, and he absolutely loved the song. I admit I was fucking amazed to hear that. I guess after years on mawfuckas hatin on my music it's about time IMPORTANT people start to take notice! So in the next coming month or so i will be pushing the single "Victory" through digiwaxx media. And that is not at all a small deal! Ha ha! I'm on my way haters! I'm sure the haters aren't reading this blog though, so if any of you supporters happen to run up on a hater. Tell em I said...HA HA HA!
Other than that the future is looking bright! The Midwest Connect Showcase is taking on a form of its own. Javin Foreman (Mikkey Halsteds Manager)has some wonderful ideas on how we can capitalize even more off of this venture, and I am more than excited.
God loves me! I say that because I'm just a kid from Milwaukee who had the audacity to really beleive in hos dreams. And after constantly working towards my goals, the Good Lord is putting me in the place to make things happen. I tell folks that I am the American dream, and I really mean it. I come from nothing, the dirt. But I am growing into a string and sturdy tree.

Puttin in werk like a d-boy!

What it do folks in my immediate blogosphere. Glad to know that you are still tuned in wit ya mans Adebisi over here.
As you would know it I am over here, back in Milwaukee for a minute putting in some serious work and grinding hard to get that paper. Update on me quitting my job: the best thing that I've done for my life thus far! I'm just happy to have the time to use my brain! After a while work was getting to taking up too much of my time and creative energy. I am just getting into the groove of listening to that voice that natuarally leads me in my spirit. Things have been working out fine for me. I wake up every morning and pray that God puts me on the right path towards focusing and acheiving my goals. He has and everyday has been a productive day.
I'm at the point where I am minimilizing alot of things in my life to kind of strip the fat off of life and get to the meat of things. I'm really just narrowing everything and preparing for the next phase of my life. I see some big things.
Besides from the music I'm in the process of starting another company to have while pursuing the music. I quit my job yes, but not to be a starving artist, but to be a budding entrepreneur. By the summer time I expect to have things up and running. I won't let my idea out the bag yet tho. Ya'll just gone have to wait and see.
As you all can see in March I have another showcase coming up...actually I have two in March. One in Atlanta (Almostfamoushow.com) and one in Milwaukee (as pictured in the flyer). Both of these shows are gonna be incredible. I'm hoping the comrade X.O can occompany me down in ATL so that we can bring that tandem stage performance to the masses (I'm rockin by myself, but when me and X.O get down on stage shit is crazy)!. He'll also be doing a small set on the 20th, he's got some new shit poppin and folks are diggin it so it's time he steps out and gets some of this beautiful sunshine. Asides from that me and the band have a show this Saturday, and again we are playing at UWM on March 11th. Puttin in WERK! I love this grind, its what I asked for and I wouldn't have it any other way. Until next time.

A beautiful day.

Today is a beautiful day. This morning I woke up around 6am and started my day. I woke up, went and got some clothes out of the dryer and then proceeded to go and wake my two sleeping children so that I could get them off and on to school.
That went off without a hitch or a fit from my 3 yr old daughter who in particualarily isn't a morning person. This morning it was my son who was a bit tired and fussy. While my daughter was off playing and making me smile, my sone was moping around acting blah. Come to find out that the kid had a little stomache ache. He just needed to take a duece and after that he was okay.
After I got them to their mom I hurried and went in to work for my last time to make it to the celebration they had planned for me. I hate the institution of work, but I must say I loved my job. Even though somedays it sucked for the most part it was a great experience. And My supervisor Ms. Denise Crumble has been a blessing in my life. Well needless to say I get to work and folks are setting up plates and plates of food and wishing me well on my transition. I must say all the fols at work were much supportive of me having the courage to pursue my art full time. I stayed for about an hour and a half and stuffed my face, said my farewell's and hit it! No need to stick around and dwell on the past when I have a date with destiny you know.
So after I nleft work I went home to walk my pitbull Judah. Its a beautiful day outside today so we went on a semi long walk. Yesterday I took him to the park and he got mud all over my new timbs. That was totally my fault though! So since I'm gonna be moving around I am trying to find a home for the pup and I found some potential folks. I like the damn dog though and I really don't wanna see him go, but hell he can't feed himself!
Well....after walking the dog I drove over to the east side Starbucks (currently I am looking ata gorgeous woman's posterior and they're happens to be a few good looking women in here). ANyhow the register didn't have the funds to change a 50 dollar bill, so I got my coffee for free! Yay me!
Add to the fact that we are having a beautiful day today, it was my final day at work, they through me a party, I got 50 bucks and a free coffee! This may go on the record as one of the top ten best days ever!
I really feel like my star is alligning! Things just have been going perfectly to the plan. Thank God I have one! Or a somewhat plan at least.

Last Friday..

I haven't had the opportunity to sit down and write for a few days, but I damnn sure wanted to hurry up and get to a computer last Friday, because I was having one hell of a day!

Now I woke up Friday morning motivated and ready to put my nose to the grindstone. So I did all my morning stuff, put on my coat and hit the streets. The only thing was that I had put on a different coat that I ususally where and wouldn't you know I left my damn keys in the house in my other coat. So I was not only locked out of my house I was locked out the car. So I was stuck in a bind. I thought my day was wasted, because everyone who could help me ws either gone to work or just not home. I called my landlord who stays around the corner was also gone. Needless to say I was pissed off! After sitting on my porch for about two hours my landlord finally called me back and I went and got the keys! Right on time because I had to go to the bank and get a money order reissued that ended up costing me 20 bucks. I was pissed about that too! So after Ileave the bank I;m walking back to my car and I run into this old white man named Chuck who was propably one of the most jovial fellas that I have ever met in my life! So we get to talking about life, politics and so forth and after a while I get to telling him about my music. Whick then he started telling me about his sons, one who's the director of the Boston Symphony and another who has a Grammy award winning group called the Kronos Quartet. I was amazed! Anyway Chuck wanted to know more about what it was that I did, so I told him that I'd come back over with some of my sponsorship sheets and we'd talk then.

So after running some more errands I stopped back over by Chucks and had the opportunity to meet his wife of 60 years and his grand daughter...which was a joy. I mean how often do you meet good, genuine people in life. They even donated $60.00 to me for my trip expenses! I thought to myself that God must've brought that moment together!

Yeah Friday was a real good day. I got a few extra bucks in the bank and for some reason i knew I was on the right path.

God rewards the faithful! I've been on my constant grind for quite some time and he is recognizing and enabling me to shine. Watch a rising star!

I need to quit my day job....one day.

This weekend went well pretty. Friday I didn't do much after I got home from the gig except hang with my babies (whom I will be uploading some more clips of them getting they performance on later). I know I sat up posting on twitter to God knows how long. I've given up on myspace and facebook to a full scale twitter addiction. I've found out that for my purposes of networking FB and Myspace aint cuttin it! What I've found on twitter is a whole bunch of young power movers who are about buisiness (w/ a lil bit of bullshitin), and not the typical round the way MF'rs I've found on Myspace and Facebook. Although those sites have brought me closer to my fans and have reconnected me with a bunch of old friends and fam. They're just not worthy of my praise for good buisiness. Fuck meeting friends, I want to meet some endz! In the meantime my trusty team of online promoters will still be effectively managing my myspace profile....I just won't be there so don't get nad if you message me and I don't hit you back for quite some time. It ain't personal...strictly buisiness.
On the positive emcee note this weekend I did some drops for a few radio djay's who were said to be debuting my single "So Tru" on their stations, hit the studio with my guy Reason (www.4ar.biz) and did some online networking (knocking doors down...all thanks to twitter.com) . I've done drops before for artists, mix show hosts and djays, however my guy DJ Ise of the African United Deejays warned me to start getting that down packed becasue ass soon as this music takes off (which it will) Deejays all over are gonna want to get drops from me. So I started rehearsing! Also I once again started blasting my single "So Tru" out online to deejays, A&R's and writers so I hope that takes off for me too. The studio session was insane me and Reason Knocked out 2 new joints in les than 3 hours! I put in that work in the studio I swear no one signed in the game can touch me in the studio, or even period for that matter (brushing off my shoulders...)! That felt great though. I;m in the midst of recording three projects and attempting to get some videos shot for my next album "Hard Money". I think I;m the only unsigned/undiscovered artist that works like he's on the majors. I'm ready to play though! I need to quit this day job, but the blls still need to get paid. Shouts out to the home girl Merranda. I told her she had better check my blog today...or else...number 1 fan gets dropped to 2! One love to any and everyone checking on these blogs. Living in a city where the stars seldom shine bright, the only thing we see shine is the cities lights at night. Not nearly as extravagant as the flashing lights of the paparazzi that Kanye spoke about, but still a sight to see. Walking downtown under the auspices of Milwaukee's city lights I can feel the pulse of the city. As the pedestrians stroll pass and the cars whiz by honking their horns the heartbeat of the city intensifies. Every beat brings new life. Beat! A homeless man hustling for change. Beat, Beat! Teenage boys tussling on the corner trying to prove their masculinity. Beat, Beat, Beat! A woman rushes attempting to beat the changing of the street light from red to green. Beat, Beat, Beat, Beat! Yesss. I silently champion her efforts as she beats the light and yells for someone to tell the bus to hold up. I stand off in obscurity breathing in the city. Respiration. Beneath the cities lights.

As I was on my way to work this morning I ran apon this guy. As I spotted him walking across the street something in my mind told me that I just had to take a picture of this cat. So with my sidekick in tow I found the perfect opportunity to take a few snap shots of this dude. I had to be discreet though. Eventually I think he found out I was on to him, because he just started to move in back of me. Still......who told this nigga that he could wear shorts with running pants under them. LOL!!!!!!! I'm a fuckin fool!
